This is a tutorial in essay writing for beginners.
Let’s say you have to write an essay on this topic:
“City schools are more advantageous that village schools.”
Now, you will use a technique I call The Power of Three to find three ways in which city schools are better or more advantageous.
Let’s do it:
- City schools have better technology, such as smart boards, internet, and so on.
- City schools may have a better library
- City schools may have more teachers.
Great. So we just found three ways in which city schools are more advantageous.
This is what our essay structure will look like.
Again, the main point is that city schools are better or more advantageous.
And section one will deal with better technology, section two with better libraries, and section three with more teachers.
Let’s write out the opening paragraph.
“City schools are more advantageous than village schools, in three ways. City schools have access to more advanced technology, such as the internet and smart boards. They usually boast better libraries. And they often have more teachers who specialize in different subjects.”
