3 Power Tips on Writing Essays Quickly and Easily

You sit down to write an essay. You just had a burger with fries and a milk shake, and you’re already feeling a bit drowsy. You’re thinking of the first sentence to write, when suddenly your phone rings, and it’s your friend just calling for no reason asking you what you’re doing because she’s bored.

What are the three problems with the above scenario?

Well, writing an essay is painful enough, so why would you add even more pain to it? Here are the problems:

  • You ate a burger with fries and a milk shake. This is gonna cost ya. The mental stamina required to come up with sentences and paragraphs is precious. By eating a heavy meal you destroy it instantly.
  • You’re thinking of the first sentence. How long does it take you to come up with one? The problem is that you could run out of ideas before you even begin if you don’t warm yourself up by reading something very short but useful on How to Write an Essay.
  • Your friend calls and, instead of writing that first sentence, you start to chat. Hey, let’s face it: by now, your chances of writing an essay quickly and easily are slim to none.

So, what’s to be done about it?

Here’s a simple 3 step advice:

  1. Avoid eating a heavy meal before sitting down to write. Instead, eat something light, such as a grilled chicken breast with some vegetables, or something like that. But don’t overload yourself.
  2. Eliminate all distractions. Turn off your cell phone, your email, your instant messenger and, yes, the television. You can survive without these for an hour.
  3. Read a small bit of writing advice right before you begin. Read a small section from a book or a magazine about how to write an essay. Here’s a great idea (wink wink) – read a blog post. And let it be about how to write a thesis statement or some general advice like that. It will set your brain up for an hour of creativity.

If you follow these 3 simple steps (and note – they are easy to do), your essays will automatically get better grades. I promise.
