<p><strong>If you want to write an essay in three easy steps</strong>, first, you need to understand what is NOT working for you right now and why. Essay writing is not easy because of the traditional, really outdated structure of Introduction &#8211; Body &#8211; Conclusion.</p>
<p>You need something new that works. Here is your audio. And here are the things you will learn:</p>
<ul>
<li>What they taught you at school</li>
<li>Why it doesn&#8217;t work</li>
<li>What to do instead</li>
<li>How to write an essay in three easy steps</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Hit the PLAY button to listen in:</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
var playerhost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://audio-files-tutor-phil.s3.amazonaws.com/ezs3js/secure/" : "http://audio-files-tutor-phil.s3.amazonaws.com/ezs3js/player/");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + playerhost + "mp3/DB70395E-9FBA-939C-628BB944B9438520.js?t="+(Math.random() * 99999999)+"' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
// ]]&gt;</script></p>
<p><strong>Here Are Your Takeaways</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Writing an essay involves 3 steps: <em>Taking a Stand</em>, <em>Writing the Thesis</em>, and <em>Writing the Body</em></li>
<li>Introductions and Conclusions are optional, but may be required</li>
<li>Use the <em><strong>Power of Three</strong></em> to make your life easier</li>
<li>Devote a section to each sub-point you outlined in the thesis statement</li>
<li>Use simple essay math to break the task into manageable units</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><strong>Let’s face it it &#8211; being an adult learner is a challenge quite different from being a teenage student.</strong> And here are <img class="alignright size-full wp-image-997" title="femaile adult learner" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/adult-learner-4.jpg" alt="How to succeed as an adult leaner" width="320" height="480" />things that make you different:</p>
<ul>
<li>You probably have a full-time or a part-time job</li>
<li>You may have children, and children need attention</li>
<li>You probably pay for college from your own pocket</li>
<li>You don’t sleep in hallways</li>
<li>You don’t join fraternities or smoke weed on campus</li>
</ul>
<p>In other words, you may not feel that you “belong.” That you are part of this institution called the University. And while your younger counterparts seem to be totally enjoying their college experience, you feel left out.</p>
<p>Your problems and frustrations are weighing down on you, and your energy is not at its highest level. “Gosh, am I cut out for this?” &#8211; you may think.</p>
<p><strong>Answer: Yes, You Are!</strong></p>
<p>I’d like to open your eyes to some major advantages that you have over youngsters that you may be overlooking. These are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Life Experience</li>
<li>Strong Motivation</li>
<li>Clear Focus</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Life Experience</strong></p>
<p>Experience &#8211; the child of difficult mistakes! Over the years you have befriended this harsh educator. And I want you to acknowledge this education as probably your most valuable possession.</p>
<p>First, it helps you make better decisions as to what you want to study and pursue professionally. You may have met people who helped guide you towards your profession of choice. Or you may have worked in an environment you liked and decided to become a part of it. Or you worked at a place you hated and decided to change in view of this new information. In any case, you now have what will take your teenage fellow student years to find out.</p>
<p>Second, an adult learner’s brain simply contains more information that can be used in studying. The more information your brain has, the more neuro-connections it will make, enabling you to perceive information with more maturity, which leads to more sensible papers and exams.</p>
<p>Third, don’t forget that being an adult learner puts you in better touch with your professors, who are adults themselves. It’s just easier to identify with them and create lasting academic relationships and friendships. This one is big!</p>
<p><strong>Strong Motivation</strong></p>
<p>Hey &#8211; you know that if you don’t succeed in college &#8211; after all the money and time invested &#8211; your spouse will not be very happy with you. Heck, you will feel pain from other family members, including your children. And you will be quite unhappy with yourself.</p>
<p>I don’t mean to paint a gloomy picture &#8211; after all, I am here to help you succeed. But your motivation to do whatever it takes to do well and get that career-launching diploma is just way higher than your fellow teenager’s. You are much more likely to stick it out and end up with that all-important scroll in your hand.</p>
<p><strong>Clear Focus</strong></p>
<p>Being an adult learner, you know exactly what you’re after. You are after a diploma in Nursing. Or Accounting. Or Public Health. Or Psychology. And you know why you’re after it. And you are not likely to change course if faced with unforeseen obstacles.</p>
<p>No &#8211; you will get what you want just because you have such a precise idea of it! Many of your younger academic colleagues will be coming back to the university in search of a new degree. But you are ALREADY here! You are way ahead in the game <img src='http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>So, I hope you see that you are in a great place. Take advantage of it. And if life throws you a problem that is trying to throw you out of the seat &#8211; use it to strengthen your advantages &#8211; your Experience, your Motivation, and your Focus!</p>
<p>Talk soon,</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><h2><span style="color: #000000;">I won&#8217;t waste your time here with any kind of self-praise&#8230;</span></h2>
<h3><span style="color: #000080;">&#8230;and let my and other people&#8217;s RESULTS do the talking.</span></h3>
<p>As you probably already know, my new DVD program revolves around three essays that I wrote myself during my college years. One I wrote as an undergraduate student, and two bigger papers &#8211; as a grad.</p>
<p>And I just wanted to SHOW you the grades I got and the comments I received from my professors who graded these papers. And then I&#8217;ll share some of the things my students have said about my stuff.</p>
<p><strong>But first&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><strong>I want to tell you where I was BEFORE I found out all the secrets of essay writing.</strong></p>
<p>My average grade was C &#8211; and that was the AVERAGE!</p>
<p>And the comments I used to receive really put me down:</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-879" title="my average grade before my system" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-28-at-9.28.35-AM-1024x640.png" alt="my average grade before my system" width="614" height="384" /></p>
<p>So, this was <strong>before</strong> I started using the system I&#8217;m about to teach you.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #333399;">And here are the photocopies of the grades and comments I received from my professors for the papers we&#8217;ll study and actually write together from scratch in Advanced Essay Writing Tecniques:</span></h3>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the grade and comment on the first paper (720 words)</strong></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-872" title="grade and comment for paper 1" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-28-at-8.13.21-AM-1024x640.png" alt="grade and comment for paper 1" width="614" height="384" /></p>
<p>In the program I&#8217;ll show you TWO major mistakes I had made in this paper &#8211; an intellectual and a grammatical one &#8211; and STILL got an A+!</p>
<p>This shows you the power of my methods &#8211; you don&#8217;t have to be perfect &#8211; all you need to do is apply the simple techniques I teach.</p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the grade and comment on the second paper (2,902 words)</strong></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-877" title="grade and comment for a larger paper" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-28-at-8.41.20-AM-1024x640.png" alt="grade and comment for a larger paper" width="614" height="384" /></p>
<p>This one was communicated over email &#8211; my professor had sent me the file in pdf. In blue print &#8211; that&#8217;s the professor&#8217;s grade and comment. The grade is FULL CREDIT, as you can see.</p>
<p>This comment also goes to show that you don&#8217;t have to be perfect and that your professor does NOT have to agree with you! You don&#8217;t have to try to please your professor &#8211; NO &#8211; but you&#8217;ll learn how to write in a way that they will love you anyway WITHOUT you trying to please <img src='http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the grade and comment on the third and last paper (3,065 words)</strong></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-882" title="the grade and comment on last paper" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-28-at-8.19.45-AM-1024x640.png" alt="the grade and comment on term paper" width="614" height="384" /></p>
<p>Again, you can see that this paper is NOT perfect, either. Yes &#8211; I made some mistakes in using the MLA style &#8211; it&#8217;s kind of like the APA style &#8211; I&#8217;ve never been an expert in those and don&#8217;t want to be &#8211; I don&#8217;t truly care.</p>
<p>My weapon is my content &#8211; I write in such a way that professors can&#8217;t help it but give me good grades &#8211; and I&#8217;ll be teaching YOU the exact same techniques &#8211; VISUALLY!</p>
<p><strong>TESTIMONIALS</strong></p>
<p>As for some testimonials from my students, <a title="testimonials" href="http://www.tutorphil.com/testimonials/" target="_self">click here and read</a> &#8211; see for yourself if my techniques could work for you, too.</p>
<p>Talk soon,</p>

<p>P.S. Keep your eyes on your inbox &#8211; the program is coming out in the next few days and will be available for only a few days &#8211; in a limited number of copies &#8211; ONLY for my subscribers&#8230;</p>

<li>How to write juicy introductions and conclusions &#8211; this is a big one for many.</li>
<li>How to write 10 pages or 3,000 words &#8211; a lot of people run out of steam after about 500 words, so&#8230;</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><strong>Screenshots from Advanced Essay Writing Techniques to the Rescue!</strong></span></p>
<p>Below you see several screenshots from my upcoming DVD program Advanced Essay Writing Techniques. I made these screenshots in order for you to grab and apply the information right away and get results. Hey &#8211; that&#8217;s what I&#8217;m here for, right? I want you to succeed.</p>
<p>So, take these and use them &#8211; I know that a lot of term papers are due within the next two weeks &#8211; so here is some training, and I hope you&#8217;ll find it helpful.</p>
<p>And leave me a comment or ask me a question about the upcoming program. I&#8217;ll gladly answer right here on the blog. I want you to know what exactly the program can do for you and to feel its power right here.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s begin&#8230;</p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><strong>1. Research<br />
</strong></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-853" title="how to do research - 2" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-26-at-8.19.46-AM-1024x640.png" alt="how to do research and use sources" width="614" height="384" /></p>
<p>Research papers seem to be a big challenge for many, and here is one simple but very powerful technique I use myself and teach in the program:</p>
<p>Basically, you need to write you thesis statement BEFORE you try to incorporate your research &#8211; NOT AFTER!</p>
<p>In other words, you should do whatever it takes &#8211; and it will take some thinking on your part (made easy if you follow the steps I teach) &#8211; to write down the main point you&#8217;ll be supporting in your paper.</p>
<p>And then and only then you look for articles and books &#8211; whatever will help you drive that point home. Get it?</p>
<p>Most people &#8211; almost EVERYONE I&#8217;ve taught so far &#8211; try to find as much material as possible before beginning to write. As a result, they become overwhelmed when trying to incorporate all that research into their paper.</p>
<p>So, as the screenshot above shows, what you do is you look at your research in terms of whether it helps you to support YOUR point, not the other way around. Of course, you get full training on this in the program, and it&#8217;s hard to do justice to it in just one screenshot.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-859" title="how to write a research paper" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-26-at-8.17.35-AM-1024x640.png" alt="how to write a research paper" width="614" height="384" /></p>
<p>And here is an example from one of the essays that we&#8217;ll be writing together on the DVD&#8217;s. Here you can see exactly what I&#8217;m doing. The quote I&#8217;m using helps me prove my point in the paper.</p>
<p>The sentence on top is the main point I&#8217;m trying to make in this section of the paper. And, as you can see, the quote is helping me to support it. That&#8217;s what I&#8217;m talking about!</p>
<p><strong>2. Introductions and Conclusions</strong></p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-855" title="how to write introductions and conclusions" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-26-at-8.08.59-AM-1024x640.png" alt="how to write introductions and conclusions" width="614" height="384" /></strong></p>
<p>This screenshot simply shows you that I in fact teach how to write introductions and conclusions in the program.</p>
<p>Just to remind you &#8211; we&#8217;ll be writing three essays together in program where I hold you by the hand as we build these essays from nothing into 700, 2,902, and 3,065 words, respectively.</p>
<p>Now, in the third essay, we need to write a juicy introduction and a nice conclusion &#8211; and I show you exactly what to do.</p>
<p>But I want to give you something you can use right now to write a good introduction. And here are the steps:</p>
<ol>
<li>Write the thesis and the body of the essay.</li>
<li>Within the body of the essay &#8211; in any section &#8211; write an example from your personal experience that would support your main point or the point in that particular section.</li>
<li>In your first paragraph, before you get to the main point, you may simply cut that example you just wrote from the body of the essay and affix it right before the thesis, so that your essay begins with a personal example or anecdote. Many professors love this kind of introductions&#8230;</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>3. How to Write 10 pages or more</strong></p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-856" title="how to structure an essay" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-26-at-8.13.58-AM-1024x640.png" alt="how to structure an essay" width="614" height="384" /></strong></p>
<p>Now I know that this is a really big one &#8211; everyone suffers when trying to come up with all these words and pages and most people are stuck after 500 words!</p>
<p>One of the techniques I teach is to use your professor&#8217;s essay question or topic as a guideline to creating your essay&#8217;s structure. And I show exactly how to do that in the program.</p>
<p>And here I simply want to graphically show you how powerful The Power of Three can be when writing your essay. We&#8217;ll use it multiple times throughout the program and you will literally WATCH how a paper grows from nothing &#8211; just a seed of an idea &#8211; to 2,902 words!</p>
<p>If you look at the screenshot above &#8211; the essay question seems only a short sentence. But it contains within itself the genetic structure of a whole essay tree you can see below:</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-858" title="how to write a 10 page essay" src="http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-shot-2011-11-26-at-8.12.49-AM-1024x640.png" alt="how to write a 10 page essay" width="614" height="384" /></strong></p>
<p>The instant takeaway for you right now is:</p>
<p>DIVIDE AND CONQUER!</p>
<p>Always look for ways to subdivide into subtopics and 3,000 words becomes as easy as 300 &#8211; especially of you know all the tricks of how to do it right.</p>
<p>These are just a few shots of my program that runs over three and a half hours and contains over 300 slides &#8211; fully animated! For now, take these and use them &#8211; I want you to get some instant results &#8211; that means NOW  <img src='http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>If you are still fuzzy on something &#8211; that&#8217;s totally understandable &#8211; writing essays is a whole subject that is impossible to master from one blog post.</p>
<p><strong>So, leave me a comment or a question about the upcoming program &#8211; I want you to succeed and created it just for you&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><strong><em>(And share with a friend on Facebook or Twitter, too&#8230;)</em><br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><img class="size-medium wp-image-833 alignright" title="Sample Term Paper Topics" src="http://tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/angry_man_with_laptop-300x200.jpg" alt="Term Paper Topics" width="300" height="200" /></p>
<p><strong>Coming up wit</strong><strong>h a term paper topic can be a pain in the neck.</strong> The templates I provide below will help you get started.</p>
<p>These are meant to show you different outline possibilities, so you could get an idea of how to structure your term paper. Here is an example of how to use them:</p>
<p>Suppose you have to write a History paper. And let’s say that you wish to write about a historical figure. And here is a template you like:</p>
<p><em>X changed the course of history by engaging in Y-number of wars.</em></p>
<p>Now just replace the <em>X</em> with a historical figure &#8211; say, <em>Napoleon</em> &#8211; and you already have the beginning of an outline going. You should also replace <em>Y</em> with a number. This way you can use this template to write about any number of historical figures.</p>
<p>So, the final result for this template might be this:</p>
<p><em>Napoleon changed the course of history by engaging in three major wars.</em></p>
<p><strong>So, here are your templates:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em>X and Y should be changed in order to preserve our planet’s ecology.</em></li>
<li><em>In order to fight world hunger effectively, X, Y, and Z are the changes world governments must accept.</em></li>
<li><em>The American public loves/hates X for Y-number of reasons.</em></li>
<li><em>It is always hard to do X or Z without having done Y first.</em></li>
<li><em>X is better than Y in Z-number of ways.</em></li>
<li><em>In order to live better lives, people should start doing more of X and less of Y, as 10 examples show.</em></li>
<li><em>Some animal species are on the verge of extinction because of global warming. X and Y, for example, are about to lose their habitat &#8211; polar ice.</em></li>
<li><em>Term paper topics are hard to come up with because of X, Y, and Z.</em></li>
<li><em>X costs too much nowadays because of Y and Z factors.</em></li>
<li><em>My country’s foreign policy has changed significantly in the past 10 years. It used to be more X, but now it is more Y.</em></li>
<li><em>X and Y are essentially similar.</em></li>
<li><em>X and Y are essentially different.</em></li>
<li><em>X and Y cannot coexist peacefully because they disagree on A, B, and C.</em></li>
<li><em>It is best not to buy term paper topics because of X, Y, and Z.</em></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>So &#8211; there you have them.</strong></p>
<p>Feel free to tweak and change these term paper topics (or templates, rather) any ways you like. I came up with these simply as possibilities to develop a good argument.</p>
<p>Hope they help <img src='http://www.tutorphil.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><strong>Knowing what an analysis is</strong> and being able to write one can mean a difference between passing or failing a course. And here’s why:</p>
<ul>
<li>Your professor may ask you to write an analysis without even mentioning that it is, in fact, an analysis</li>
<li>Any time you discuss a work of fiction or even a film or a work of art, you’re doing an analysis</li>
<li>Being able to do it may count for as much as 80% of your grade, especially in a Humanities course such as Literature, Art, or Sociology</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You Need to Know How to Do</strong></p>
<p>In order to write an effective analysis that will get you the grade you desire, you need to get the all-important skill of Perceiving Structure.</p>
<p>But don’t worry if it sounds too complex or unfamiliar. All this really means is that you should be able to look at something and see what parts it consists of. In fact, the word “Analysis” literally means “The act of breaking up a whole into parts.”</p>
<p>So, in short, you need to be able to see individual parts in a work of art or any kind of a complex object.</p>
<p><strong>How Do You Do That?</strong></p>
<p>Let’s do an example right away. Look at this picture:</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-558" title="picture_analysis" src="http://tutorphil.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/picture_analysis.jpg" alt="" width="425" height="282" /></p>
<p><strong>Set a Goal for Your Analysis</strong></p>
<p>Let’s say that we need 300 words written about this picture. Very good, then. This is our goal.</p>
<p>What would be our steps?</p>
<p><strong> Step 1: Identify Categories of Elements</strong></p>
<p>Category 1: Human Elements</p>
<p>Category 2: Non-Human Elements – Plants and Soil</p>
<p><strong>Step 2: Get Basic Facts about the Elements:</strong></p>
<p><em><strong> Human Elements:</strong></em></p>
<ul>
<li>Hands</li>
<li>How many hands? –Nine Pairs</li>
<li>What colors? –Varied: from lighter to darker</li>
<li>What can we say about the people? –They are kids</li>
<li>Anything else?</li>
<li>All hands are together, forming an inner circle</li>
<li>Some are younger, some are a bit older</li>
</ul>
<p>Anything else?</p>
<p>It looks like we got pretty much everything.</p>
<p><em><strong> Non-Human Elements:</strong></em></p>
<ul>
<li>Plants</li>
<li>What kind of plants: -Young herbs that look fragile</li>
<li>Where are the herbs? –In the children’s hands</li>
<li>What else is in the picture? –Earth</li>
</ul>
<p>Anything else?</p>
<p>Looks like we got everything here, as well.</p>
<p><strong> Step 3: Find Relationships Between Elements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Children’s hands hold the earth, and the earth holds the young plants.</li>
<li>The hands form a circle, creating a unifying effect.</li>
<li>The union of all the hands conveys power.</li>
<li>What do children usually signify? –Hope; Future.</li>
<li>What do young plants signify? –Environment; Ecology; Future of Our Planet</li>
<li>What can the earth signify? –The Earth (planet)</li>
</ul>
<p>So, this whole picture may mean something like: “The hope for the green and ecological future is in the hands of the children all over the world.”</p>
<p>We arrived at this by considering all the elements separately, and then studying their relationship.</p>
<p><strong> Step 4: Write the Thesis Statement</strong></p>
<p>“The meaning of this picture can be interpreted the following way: &#8220;The hope for the green and ecological future is in the hands of the children all over the world.&#8221; Two kinds of elements, the human and the non-human, as well as their relationship with each other, help the author of the picture to convey the idea.”</p>
<p><strong> Step 5: Write the Body of Your Essay</strong></p>
<p>Well, after having taken the picture apart element by element, we have enough material to write up the body. Into which three sections are we going to divide it? Into the familiar three:</p>
<ol>
<li>Human Elements</li>
<li>Non-Human Elements</li>
<li>The Relationship between the Human and the Non-Human Elements</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Let’s Do It (We’ll write a paragraph per section, starting with the thesis statement)</strong></p>
<p>The meaning of this picture can be interpreted the following way: &#8220;The hope for the green and ecological future is in the hands of the children all over the world.&#8221; Two kinds of elements, the human and the non-human, as well as their relationship with each other, help the author of the picture to convey the idea.</p>
<p>The author of this picture chose children and, more specifically, children’s hands in order to convey his point. The observer can tell that these are children&#8217;s hands. And, in many, if not all human cultures children evoke the feelings of hope, new beginnings, and the future. People very often say, “Children are our future.” Furthermore, the children are of different ethnic backgrounds. This is evident from their skin colors, which vary from lighter to darker. This detail shows that the author probably meant children all over the world.</p>
<p>The non-human elements of the picture are the plants and the soil. The plants are very young – they are just sprouts, and that signifies the fragility of life. The soil in which they grow, and the picture shows some nice chunks of it, evokes the image of our planet Earth.</p>
<p>Finally, and most importantly, the relationship between these elements helps the author convey his message, which is something along the lines of the following: “The future of our planet and its ecology is in the hands of children all over the world.” This idea can be arrived at by careful examination. First, the arrangement of the children’s hands is in circle, which signifies the power of unity. This is the power that the children have when observed as a whole. The future depends on their cooperation. Second, it is reasonable to assume that these children are in the process of planting. And this is their joint effort. Third, the placement of the sprouts, which rest inside the children’s hands, is a strong way to suggest that the future of the ecology is literally “in their hands.”</p>
<p>In sum, the author chose the images of children and young plants to say that the future of our planet depends on the joint efforts of children all over the world.</p>
<p><strong>Your Takeaway Points</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>An analysis is the process of taking the whole apart element by element</li>
<li>When your professor asks you to write about a painting, a poem, or a piece of music, he really asks you to write an analysis</li>
<li>In order to do it, identify the separate parts and study their relationship</li>
<li>The goal is to arrive at the meaning the author is trying to convey</li>
</ul>
<p>Hope this helps,</p>
